Yes, they can – but they are never “automatically” equal clients. The base package is always designed for the architecture studio as the primary author of the project.
There are essentially two levels of involvement for partners:
1) Full presence in the film (fee: 80% of the production costs)
If a partner appears on camera, is named in the credits and the narrative of the film is more or less balanced between the studio and your partner, we treat them as a second main stakeholder. In that case, there is an additional fee for extended rights and the extra work involved, and the overall investment can then be shared between the studio and the partner in a way that reflects their presence in the film.
2) Logo presence and usage rights only (fee: 40% of the production costs)
If a partner is only mentioned by name and/or logo and would simply like to use the finished film on their own channels, this is handled as a separate buyout for usage rights. In that scenario, their contribution is clearly lower than that of a full on-camera partner, and the architecture studio remains the main client.
Partners can purchase the usage-rights buyout at any time (even after final delivery), effective upon written confirmation and payment.
In short: the more narrative weight and on-screen presence a partner has, the higher their share of the investment – a simple logo mention with usage rights is treated very differently from appearing as a second protagonist in the film.
